Cape PerpetuaJanuary 8, 1994Five enthusiastic hikers ignored the rainy, nasty valley weather and headed to the coast to meet up with Teresa Ferrer, an Obsidian member living in Florence. We proceeded to Cape Perpetua and hiked the 6.5-mile loop from the visitor center. You really couldn’t ask for better hiking weather. It was warm with some light rain but also some brightness as if the sun wanted to emerge. An ethereal effect resulted from fog and clouds in the old growth forest. The New Morning Coffeehouse in Yachats provided a nice stopover for refreshments and pleasant conversation for Teresa Ferrer, Helen Liguori, Jean Skinner, Jon Tesdell, Ruth Weirbog and leader Sylvia Harvey. |
