Three Creek LakeJanuary 2, 1994It wasn’t raining very hard when we left Eugene on the first ski trip of the new year. It was when we arrived at Ray Benson Sno-Park. Hard and relentless. We stayed only long enough to visit the rest rooms and then headed for higher country — Three Creek Lake — where we hoped the rain would change to snow. No luck, but at least the deluge was reduced to a steady drizzle. We endured the few miles skiing up to the shelter and had lunch out of the rain, followed by a quick return on the icy snow. The day did provide an excellent test of rain gear for Mardi Klotz, Josh Ladau, Alice Leachman, Eric Miller, Anne Montgomery, Jean Ridone, Harold Thompson and leader Royal Murdock. |
