Hardesty Mountain-Mt. June

October 4, 1994

This was a Tuesday “half-way” hike. Just a short morning venture up and down Hardesty. Or at least, that’s what I (Bill Montgomery) had planned. As it turned out, my one fellow hiker, Richard Lemon, set a brisk pace to the top of Hardesty, whereupon he asked if I’d ever hiked from Hardesty Mountain to Mt. June. I told him I’d only done a part of it, but I was game if he was. Well, he was! So on we went — hiking up and down the trail to the top of Mt. June. There we had great views and a chance to eat whatever snacks we’d brought along. Then all the way back down, for a grand total of over 18 miles.
