At our departing time rain clouds appeared threatening us with cancellations.
But Obsidians never cancel, it seems, so we proceeded east on Hwy. 58 with
our hardy group of five.
By the time we reached Oakridge the sky had cleared and we could see the
mountains ahead just waiting for us to take our journey to Midnight Lake.
After a short stop at Salt Creek Falls, we arrived at the trailhead at 10:30
and at the lake by noon for lunch — always a welcome break.
It was a comfortable ride, a comfortable hike and a comfortable group consisting
of non-members Bill Morse, Marjory & Volney Kelm
and Obsidians Mary Millman and leader Lois Morse.
It’s hard to believe, we packed all that enjoyment into such an easy day
and were still home a little after four!
