Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail
August 6, 1994
We had six “no-shows” on our sign-up sheet, but the eight who hiked the
Pacific Crest Trail south from Hwy. 58 had a lovely time.
Our group included two people who missed the departure of an earlier hike and who joined us.
Our trail was dusty but beautiful. We stopped twice to admire Odell Lake.
We disturbed dozens of butterflies as we walked through a swampy area.
Two of our group took dips in Arrowhead Lake: one of them found it warm, the other found it very cold.
On the Crest Trail were Brigitte Cross, Gayle Berge, Norma Lockyear, Ralph Olive, Joanne Ledet,
Mary & Kevin Sterling and leader Susan Baker.
