Scott Trail/Four-In-One Cone
July 23, 1994
It was another hot July day.
Several activities were starting at 8:00 a.m. at S.E.H.S.
John Pegg was leading a climb of the North Sister.
Our small group left for the hour-and-a-half drive to the Scott Trail.
Two hours of hiking brought us to Four-in-One Cone.
After the climb up the first cinder cone we walked half-a-mile along the crest of the chain of
cones with a magnificent close-up view of the North Sister and excellent views of Washington,
Jefferson and a distant Hood.
After lunch we hiked on to a beautiful meadow at the junction of the Scott Trail and the
Pacific Crest Trail.
Our return hike was very hot and dry (no water on the trail).
We were all happy to return to drinks stashed in the car and air conditioning!
Hikers were non-member Valdas Anelauskas from Lithuania and Obsidians Andy & Maura McIvar,
Sandy Reul and trip leader Chuck Reul.
