Eula RidgeJune 5, 1994Eula Ridge is considered by many to be a “death march”. I think the people on my trip would agree, it’s one of the most strenuous hikes the Obsidians lead. The day was fairly humid as we slowly ascended the steep section of the trail. We noticed that the first two miles needed trail maintenance, while the last section was in great shape. We had lunch at the top as the fog moved in. Because of the cold, we descended after half an hour. Passed a horse team and several hikers, and eventually made our way back to the cars. “Death marchers” were Jim Fritz, Rob Becker, Rich Romm, Joe Garrison, John Pilafian and trip leader Gary Marx. |
