Castle RockApril 20, 1994Our group of seven met in the fog at S.E.H.S. parking lot but soon were in the sun for the rest of the trip. A two-mile walk on a good forest trail led past early spring flowers to the site of a former lookout. From the summit, just above Tokatee Golf Course, the long U-shaped McKenzie Valley is visible as well as Mt. Washington and the Three Sisters. The very congenial group included two newcomers to Eugene — Colleen Edgerton and Stan Rodkey — and Obsidians Jack Ewing, Catherine Jones, Virginia Prouty, Velma Shirk and Margaret Wiese (leader). |
