North Umpqua WaterfallsApril 9, 1994Five members and seven non-members left the SEHS parking lot at 8:10 on Saturday, April 9. (We left two “noshows”.) We took the Wilbur exit (#135) from I-5 and followed the North Bank Road to Glide where we met two more hikers from Grants Pass at the Colliding Rivers Wayside. This route is especially beautiful in the spring. This was the rainiest, wettest “Waterfall” hike yet, but everyone wanted to keep going — a real comment on the determination of our group. Most had the forethought to bring — dare I mention? — umbrellas! Susan Creek, Fall Creek, Tokatee and Watson Falls were all flowing with the special spring force which is so awesome. Thank you to members Carolyn Kompanek, Chuck Mitchell, Clare Tucker, non-members Sandy Inq, Leigh & Paul Jasheway, Linda & Phil Kidd, Carol Maurer and leaders Mary Battin and Corinne Hunt. |
