We left SEHS parking lot shortly after 8:00 a.m. for the 35-mile drive to the trailhead.
We stopped at the Lowell Ranger Station to meet with our eighth hiker — Lynn Bailey.
Then on to Fall Creek. The Jones Trail is a side trail off the Fall Creek Trail.
About six miles in from the trailhead there is a small open meadow with a view down into a small valley.
Although spring officially began the next day, winter was still holding its grip.
Trees were flocked with snow and there was about 2" of snow on the ground at lunch at the meadow.
Nevertheless, the sun was out and it was very pleasant.
