Great team work made Great Camp!I started to write an article. It went something like this: “Another Summer Camp has now become part of Obsidian history. The success of Camp Montgomery was due in large part to the following people …” At this point, I listed each Committee Member and Responsible Person with a description of his/her function duties. I stopped when the article began to attain book-length proportions! Instead, just let me list their names:Summer Camp Committee: Pat & Bob Dark, John & Lenore McManigal, Jan & John Jacobsen, David Morgan, Virginia Prouty, Betty Macy, Ed Lichtenstein, Gary Marx. Unofficial Camp Committee Members: Wes Prouty, Sylvia Harvey, Chris Minarich. Responsible Persons: Sylvia Harvey, Mary Bentsen, Vera Woolley, Gary Marx, Royal Murdock, Margee Wright, An Lichtenstein, Clare Tucker, Chuck Mitchell. Irresponsible Persons: Everyone who performed their assigned Camp duties without a grumble, and that was everyone! Because of the efforts of all the people listed above (everyone at Camp), it was great fun. But obviously it takes a team effort to make it succeed — and we had a great team, didn’t we? The Committee also thanks Ray Mikesell for his very generous donation to the Summer Camp Fund. Ray’s donation was used to replace worn propane tanks with new, larger ones. Summer Camp equipment is constantly being repaired or replaced, so donations such as this are greatly appreciated. Sharon Ritchie |
