Midnight Lake

February 13, 1993

Our one cozy-carful of skiers left Eugene in bright sunshine, and with good road conditions were soon at Gold Lake snow park. We proceeded down Pengra Pass and then clockwise around the loop to Midnight Lake. A light snow the night before provided excellent ski conditions even though we did need to break trail part of the way. We were soon at Midnight Lake where the grey jays were eagerly waiting our arrival — and their share of our lunch.

It was pleasant basking in the sun, but we soon cooled down and continued on around the loop with three choosing to return via the Bechtel shelter route. This fast group was out to the car and back home before 4 pm. A good day thanks to Norm Benton, Bob Devine, Kyle Merriam, Bill Reiswig plus Leona Devine, leader.
