Halfway to the coast we were greeted with spots of “blue sky”. The coast was wonderful.
Warm sun, blue water and only a slight breeze.
We were joined at the trailhead by Mary and Maria.
A very leisurely stroll up the Captain Cook Loop with lunch at the top (in shirt-sleeves), then a
slow walk down the Gwynne Creek Trail with many stops to discuss and admire all of the old growth.

After a quick side trip to Devil’s Churn, the Eugene contingent headed homewards with a much

My delightful Sunday companion were non-member Maria Duska and members Ben Elkus, Mary Holbert,
and Gary Marx. Sharon Ritchie, leader.
