Fall Creek Trial
October 17, 1993
Rain the previous day left a wet forest; so many different mushrooms, salamanders and slugs
We hiked from F.S. Road 1828 to 1833 along Fall Creek (and back) as the clouds broke and the sun
stabbed the water.
The water ouzels were dipping and singing.
The hike was 10 miles, though we had intended to hike the entire 14-mile trail, but we didn’t
have enough cars to run a shuttle.
Non-member Mary Jo Sterling and four members, Cheryl Berry, Marty Hathaway, Clare Tucker
and leader Chuck Mitchell enjoyed the day and recommend the hike, although two bridges are damaged
and two trees are across the trail and the handrail is broken at the steps.
