The group picked up the leader at the 6-mile post on Row River Road and we rode the final 18 miles
to the trailhead on a beautiful day.
The walk through the old growth was very welcome as a shady respite from the warm sun.
The pools and waterfalls were very inviting and kept in mind for the return trip.
At Trestle Creek we had lunch. Several of us traveled up to see the falls.
On the return we heard an engine and saw a small gold dredge in operation.
When we reached one of the prime pools three or four of the resourceful ones who had brought swim
suits took the plunge into the very cool water for a refreshing swim — along with a dog who
was fetching sticks in the water.
The day was very pleasant along the always beautiful trail.
Enjoying the hike were Jim Fritz, Maggie Contrum, Sylvia Harvey, Dick Hildreth, Nisco Junkins,
Teresa Ladd, Gary Marx, Van McKay, Martha Welches and leader Shirley Froyd.
