Canyon Creek MeadowsJuly 10, 1993Seven Obsidians and four non-members drove to the trailhead of Jack Lake. The weather was near perfect for hiking: sunny, but cool enough to be comfortable. Butter cups, yellow violets shooting stars and marsh marigolds were the early flowers in the meadow and along Canyon Creek. We encountered some snow in the trees above the meadow. Five hikers hiked to the viewpoint on the ridge east of Three Fingered Jack. Coming down took only minutes sliding on the snow. A beautiful day enjoyed by Joyce Baker, Dan Bates, Norman Benton, Genie Currier, Barb Eisen, Linda Jellison, Loretta Mason, Lindsay Pierce, Linda Prefontaine, Eleanor Wilkerson and leader Hal Busby. |
