Mt. JuneJune 6, 1993Left Eugene on a cloudy, cool day at 8:35, arriving at trailhead 45 minutes (and 30 miles) later. Our car was and remained the only vehicle at the trailhead (who else but Obsidians would go hiking on a foggy, drizzly and cool day like that?). Set out on Lost Creek Trail No. 3462 at 9:30, returned to car at 14:20, with leader acting as sweep most of the way, and Marty leading the faster members of the party. Few flowers out yet, no view at the top. Happy at the thought of our dry, warm homes awaiting us in Eugene, but with impressions of that Oregon green surrounding us still on our minds (well, mine, anyway!), we got back to the SEHS parking lot around 15:15. Hikers, all Obsidians, were: Ben Elkus, Marc Hansen, Marty Hathaway, brave Terry Ianora and slow-paced leader Helmut Plant. |
