Tire MountainJune 6, 1993“R-A-I-N” was the four-letter word for this hike! Even though the weather man predicted a nice day with an occasional shower, it rained the whole day. Anne assured us this was normal for Tire Mountain! Eleven staunch hikers donned their rain gear and headed down the trail. Views were limited by fog and rain. Mt. Hood was reported to have been seen by someone. It was nice to see so many favorite wildflowers such as balsam root, calypso, rice lily, blue-eyed Mary, and sea blush. This wet but good natured group was Kevin Clark, Angie Cowles, Bob Foster, Ruth & Wayne Lill, Gary Marx, Anne Montgomery, Lindsay Pierce, Karen Seidel, Carol Stern and leader Hal Busby. |
