Multi-media Aconcagua presentation
December 17, 1993
A large crowd attended the December potluck and were rewarded with a spectacular and entertaining multi-media show presented by Sue Sullivan, who, with Sally Grosscup and Tom Donnelly climbed Mt. Aconcagua in Argentina last January. For the first part of the program, Sue showed slides and gave an informative commentary about the trip: the planning and preparation, the logistics, and the actual climb. She then combined music with slides for a 25-minute experience of the climb. Because of Sue’s initial explanation, it was easy to follow the progress of the climbers. The music helped to provide an emotional climate of the expectations, hard work and excitement.
We all appreciate the effort Sue took to put together this memorable program. She even carted speakers, two slide projectors, a dissolve unit and a tape unit to the Lodge. Many members commented on the high quality and spirit of the program.
We collected 120 pounds of canned goods for “Food for Lane County”. Thanks to Donna Eimstad and all members of the Entertainment Committee for keeping the Lodge kitchen under control and for arranging the programs at potlucks during 1993.
