September 17-18, 1993
I had just returned from a month-long vacation when the chance to sub for Norm Benton on the
Middle Sister came up.
A perfect opportunity to work out some rust and squeeze in one more climb before winter.
Only one climber signed up, which was unfortunate since the climb turned out great.
We made it to Arrowhead Lake in 2½ hours, which left us a nice afternoon.
After a cool (cold!) night, we left camp at 7:00 and summited at 9:50.
Very little of the north side snow field was left so we didn’t have to chop our way up.
Clear, mid-morning quality time was enjoyed on the summit.
Back at Arrowhead: I always leave my favorite, worst kept secret, camping spot with reluctance!
A very enjoyable trip. Climbers were Julia Sunkler and Ed Lovegren (leader).
