Paulina Lake/Newberry CraterFebruary 9, 1992Although there was bare pavement all the way over the Willamette Pass and up the slopes of Mt. Newberry, we had a grand ski day thanks to whoever moved the snowgates up to where the snow actually was — and to Bob Dark and Bill Montgomery for doing the driving! This was the 12th annual Paulina Lake excursion, with Gladys Grancorvitz being a happy participant on every trip. The sun was shining, the snow was excellent and the homemade blueberry cobbler at the Lodge was superb. The waterfalls were not entirely frozen this year, but were very beautiful nevertheless. The happy, tired group that returned to S.E.H.S. parking lot at 6:45 p.m. included Denis Bieselker, Bob Dark, Bea Fontana, Gladys Grancorvitz, Jane Hackett, Kristen Kaminski, Glenn Meares, Bill Montgomery, Barbara Schultz, Sharon Ritchie, Monique Sonnenfeld, Bobbye Sorrels, Birgitte Williams and Gene Thaxton (leader). |
