Fawn LakeFebruary 8, 1992We took the trail to Fawn Lake from the Crescent Lake side. It was a rather warm, overcast day, but in the beginning the conditions were icy. The trail follows an old road into the Diamond Peak Wilderness, then a trail along a ridgeline. Here we became concerned at the bare spots and ice. Climbing over a downed tree, Anne slipped and fell, breaking her glasses. Kim took a fall on ice and bruised her knee. We had to take off our skis and walk some parts. I was getting some pretty curious looks! But above the ridge the snow was excellent and we had a wonderful lunch at the picturesque frozen lake. Quite an adventure by John Pegg (leader), with Kim Gagnon, Anne Hartbeimer, Cheryl Berry, and Pam Jargon. |
