Gold Lake

February 1, 1992

The 2.2-mile downhill ski run to Gold Lake was very enjoyable, especially since one-half-inch of new powder snow covered the icy crust of two-foot base. Arriving at our destination, we started a fire in the barrel heater in the Gold Lake Shelter. Whoever is responsible for the abundant dry kindling at the shelter, you have our heartiest “Thank you”! Our group of 15 had lunch in or about the shelter, then we skied and visited in the general area for an hour. There were approximately 30 other skiers in the Gold Lake vicinity besides ourselves. Then up the hill and home to conclude a short but very enjoyable ski trip. It’s nice to be in snow again! The Gold Lake “Snow Bunnies” were Doris Allen, Mary Battin, Ray Beer, Vicky Buck, Kevin Clark, Sue Goldfish, Gary Marx, Chuck Mitchell, Anne Montgomery, Lars & Theresa Olaen, Kate Stroh, Susan Wilt and leaders Parker & Kathy Riddle.
