Midnight LakeJanuary 16, 1992[Once again: Bob Dark provided his excellent van for our Thursday trip to Midnight Lake.] Eugene was rather dismal with fog and drizzle, and snow conditions were questionable. But once more, optimism paid off, and it became a most enjoyable trip. Snow mixed with a bit of rain stayed with us, but all took the challenge with gusto, and the new snow made the scattered icy patches more tolerable. We went in on the service road, cut through the forest to the lake and returned via the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail. Thursday skiers were Norm Benton, Bob Dark, Glenn Meares, Chuck Mitchell, Clare Tucker, and leader Birgitte Williams. |
