Clear Lake Loop
November 15, 1992
The Clear Lake Loop was lovely with a strong hint of winter coming this sunny mid-November Sunday.
The trail was bare except for traces of the first snow and heavy frost.
The mountains were seen as white and majestic from various views around the lake.
The ancient trees were very visible in the clear lake.
The congenial host of the Santiam Fish and Game Commission facility at Clear Lake gave us permission
to use the comfortable heated outdoor bathroom.
We learned that most cabins are available for rent during winter as well as summer.
We parked in the Coldwater Cove campground and walked around and then finished the hike with
a walk down the Waterfall Trail to Sahalie and Koosah Falls.
Enjoying a terrific day were: Barbara Chinn, Bob Dark (our driver), Maxine Hall, Marc Hansen,
Vi Johnson, Anne Montgomery, Sandy Moore, Sig Otto, Ann Samson, Susan Wolling
and leader Mary Ellen West.
