Hardesty Mountain Trail
October 18, 1992
With an 80-percent chance of rain predicted and with a sore throat, Carol Kompanik wisely decided
not to lead the strenuous Hardesty Mountain Trail.
John Pegg, however, was able to lead the trip and a group of five brave hikers were on the trail
at just a little after 9:00 a.m.
This is no easy hike.
It is in fact unrelentingly uphill for an elevation gain of over 3,000 feet!
A summit certificate would not be out of order for this hike!
But the weather actually improved — it didn’t rain a drop, and the company was terrific.
Everyone arrived at the old fire lookout site feeling great.
A stop at the D.Q. in Pleasant Hill on the way back topped off a beautiful day for hikers
Ann Sanson, Denise Sevigny, Bill & Jill Griffith and John Pegg.
