Mt. Fuji

September 23, 1992

Three Obsidians left at 8 am. and drove up the Willamette about 15 miles past Oakridge for the short hike up Mt. Fuji. We turned onto Eagle Creek Road just past the railroad overpass and drove about 11 miles on fairly good gravel to a well-marked trail sign. The short, but steep, trail is in good condition and gives a spectacular view of Waldo Lake plus Odell, Crane Prairie and some of the mountains. Clouds were sitting on South and Middle Sisters but we had a broken sky and a lovely fall day for our outing. The happy trio of Leona Devine, Judy Forell and Catherine Jones, leader, were back in Eugene at 3:30.
