Lowder Mountain

June 28, 1992

A beautiful, warm day made our hike to Lowder Mountain very enjoyable. Many wild flowers were in bloom. Some we saw and identified were: Columbine, tiger lily, cone flower, paint brush, musk thistle, daisies, cliff penstemon, etc. — we could never begin to name them all. Once at the top, we searched for the view of mountains and lakes. Dubious hikers followed the leader and wondered if she’d ever been to the top before! Finally we found views of all the mountains and lakes, then hiked down. Even though it was in the 80s, we all survived and were able to eat pie before going home. [Question: Does anyone know what kind of bus the booth seats at Vi’s Pies are from?] Hikers were Barb Elsen, Gladys Grancorvitz, Vi Johnson, Ray Jensen, Marie Loome, Gary Marx, LaShell Starker, Virgina Thille and Diane Jeffcott, leader.
