Tidbits MountainJune 17, 1992Our day started well with many thanks to Bob Moffitt for picking up our hikers in Eugene and meeting us in Leaburg. The trail had several big blow-downs and a rock slide on the north side, but the magnificent display of wildflowers, the song of a variegated thrush (verified by Dot) and the view from Mt. Hood to Diamond Peak was well worth it. Dot had checked her own personal log and told us she was last on this trip on June 16, 1974! The trail was partially covered by snow and the shelter was still standing. The day was completed for Dan Johnson, Dot Leland, Helen Lynch, Bob Moffiitt and leaders Frank & Wilma Moore with a stop at the Village Cafe for you-know-what!! |
