Mt. June/Lost Creek Trail

Party of 11 left at 9:00 a.m. in three cars, set out from trailhead at 10:20. “Water”-break at about two miles up the trail, another shorter one 1½ miles later at intersection of Sawtooth Ridge Trail and Mt. June Trail No. 1400, for the last half-mile summit “assault”. Short stop at Alpine meadow half-way up the summit trail. Arrived at top at about 12:30 and stayed approximately 30 minutes. Good views from the top — both of Cascade peaks and wild flowers around and down sides of Mt. June. Returned to trailhead about 3:00, back in Eugene at 4:00. All trails (Lost Creek, Sawtooth, Mt. June) in very good condition; wildflowers and rhododendrons in bloom. Mt. June hikers were Doris Allen, Betsy Anderson, Brent Baker, Cheryl Berry, Lewis Forsythe, Marty Hathaway, Ed Lichtenstein, Joseph Minato, Dorothy & Fred Munz, and Helmut Plant (leader).
