“Cycle Brownsville V”

May 10, 1992

The weather for “Cycle Brownsville V” was unsettled, but everyone did come well prepared. Each rider had either rain gear or an insurance quarter to phone for an emergency bailout, if needed. As it turned out, the rain never came. Good thing … it was 24 miles between phone booths! While enjoying lunch in Pioneer Park alongside the Calapooia River, it was suggested that next year we switch from bicycles to water craft. So, watch for it: “Canoe the Calapoo, put in Brownsville, and take out Albany”. Keep us posted, Dick! The honored Mother’s Day pedal pushers were guest Mary Bremner, Norma Lockyear and Rose Marie Moffitt. The “also went’s” were Glenn Meares, Dick Moffitt, Royal Murdoch and Bob Devine (leader).
