Silver Falls State ParkMay 9, 1992Our group of ten left Eugene at 8:00 a.m. and arrived at Silver Falls two hours later. We all spent a half-hour in the Lodge looking over the annual wild flower show. We had the Lodge pretty much to ourselves at 10:00 in the morning. Left one car in the parking lot and drove to the North Falls parking lot. Walked to Upper North Falls and back under North Falls and under or by eight other major falls in the park. There was an abundance of wildflowers along the trail. Some open sunny places were solid with Blue Larkspur. The weather stayed partly sunny and warm all day. We made the trip home to SEHS parking lot by 5:20 p.m. The people who enjoyed this warm spring day among the falls and wildflowers were: Donna Goles, Gladys Grancorvitz, Leona Maltz, Bonnie Manheim, Lois Nelson, Alys Riley, Karen Seidel, Betty Jean Wiley and Bill & Donna Eimstad (leaders). |
