Sutton Creek TrailApril 25, 1992A thin cloud layer and rather warm temperatures saw the group off to the coast where the trail begins from Sutton Campground 5 miles north of Florence. The beauty of many blooming rhododendrons and other flowers made the hike a glorious one of pinks, yellows, whites and greens. We ate lunch at the tidal overlook and sat under the sheltering branch of the tree since a few drops of “that wet stuff” came out of the sky at that point. Sun shone the rest of the way out. Of course we stopped for ice cream cones in Florence!! Then we took an extra loop and visited Hinman Vinyards and had an interesting tour through the facility, which is situated in a beautiful valley. We all agreed we had had an exceptional day. Those on the hike were Shirley Cameron, Bonnie Manheim and leader Shirley Froyd. |
