South Willamette Trail

March 21, 1992

Weather and keen workers contributed to another successful trails work session. After meeting at Lowell Ranger Station we viewed a half-hour-long informational video on how to manage erosion from water drainage problems. We then proceeded to the South Willamette Trail to put our lesson into practice. After a short but productive day, the new section of trail was completed, and other sections of it plus a segment of Hardesty Trail were also improved. Sue Baker, U.S.F.S., again helped us with instruction, supervision and considerable labor! Willing trail workers were Doris Allen, Dallas & John Cole, Leona Devine, Ben Elkus, Gerhard Hoffmann, Ray Jensen, Gary Marx, Sharon Ritchie, Mike Shirk, Harvey & Randall Speck, Betty Staeck, Birgitte Williams and Velma Shirk (leader).
