South Willamette Trail

Thanks to good weather, a good turnout, and great workers, the first trail work project of 1992 was a huge success. Eighteen people (yes! 18!) came to work on the South Willamette Trail. We put in a short day but accomplished our goal of pushing a trail through 400 feet of brush and trees. Some logs must still be cleared and finish work done, but a hiking trail now closes what was a gap in this popular route. A big “thank-you” to trail workers Jerry Casby, Mark Dwyer, Ruth Galaid, Sylvia Harvey, Ray Jensen, Betty Macy, Glenn Meares, Virginia Prouty, Harvey, Randall & Betty Speck, Mike Shirk, Mary Bridgeman, Helen Smith, Dallas & Jack Cole, Sue Baker (Lowell District, U.S.F.S.), and Velma Shirk (leader).
