Mt. Pisgah

December 7, 1991

The record rain (2½") on Friday made for sloppy going on Saturday’s hike around the east side of Mt. Pisgah. But to paraphrase RMN (middle name Milhous) — when the going got tough, the tough got going. Really. The six-mile hike was finished in record time. But then, it was obvious to me that the group (half Ob’s and half not) was — as the French might put it — puissant. The cheerful fun-to-be-with mud squishers were Nancy Adams, Ben Elkus, Shirley Froyd, JoAnn Haines, Sylvia Harvey, Mary Holbert, Stacey Kiser, Joyce Mitchell, Eleanor Wilkerson and leader Bob Devine.
