September 29, 1991
It was a warm, gorgeous day for a hike.
Three teachers joined together for an enjoyable climb to the top of Lowder Mountain.
The terrain was extremely dry and it looked like a fire could rapidly spread through the area.
At the top we enjoyed molasses cookies and views of the Three Sisters, Mt. Hood, etc.
Having taken this hike in June and September, I recommend June — definitely!
In June the wild flowers were abundant, creeks were flowing and snow was still on the top; in short,
everything was more beautiful.
Hikers were Betty Taylor, Susan Short and leader Diane Jeffcott.
