We parked at Carmen Reservoir and walked back across the bridge to begin the trail up the east side
of McKenzie River.
It is a new piece of trail that connects with the trail from Ice Cap C.G. which leads on to
We continued up the McKenzie River National Recreational Trail to the bottom end of Clear Lake and
had lunch just past the Coldwater Cove C.G. overlooking the lake.
Returning, we crossed the river above Sahallie Falls and proceeded down the west side of the river to
the parking lot at Carmen Reservoir.
The trail is in excellent condition and very little used.
The trip can be shortened or lengthened ranging from 3½ to 11 or 12 miles.
Hikers were Jeremy Harris, Bonnie Manheim, Beverly Sewell, Myriam and Neil Witkin,
and Jean Gillett (leader).
