Silver Creek Falls
May 12, 1991
Drove to Silver Falls State Park by way of Albany, Turner, Aumsville and Sublimity with some rain
We spent part of the morning checking out the wild flower show in the Lodge at South Falls day use
There were three long tables crowded with Oregon wild flowers including Indian paint brush.
We drove to North Falls parking lot and then hiked up to Upper North Falls, back to North Falls,
where the trail passes behind the falling water, and down the canyon past Twin, Winter, Middle North,
Drake, Double and Lower North Falls.
After another mile the trail leaves the north fork and climbs the south fork to Lower South Fork Falls
and then up the stairs to South Falls (which is the highest at 177 ft.).
The wild flowers in the canyon were abundant despite the cool spring weather.
We lucked out with no rain until we got in the cars to head home.
Waterfall viewers were Celia Bosworth, Gladys Grancorvitz, Marty Hathaway, Gary Marx, Lisa Vigil,
Augustine Yow, and Bill and Donna Eimstad (leaders).
