Kentucky Falls

A wonderful short day of hiking for eight late-risers! We left at 9:15 on a cool, gray day. The hike to the three falls was, as usual, spectacular! We enjoyed a leisurely pace, and met a dozen or so hikers on the way out. Everyone except the driver (Yvonne Choate) and the leader slept all the way home. Her van was a very luxurious vehicle to travel in! Appearing on the trail instead of the sun, were salamanders, wild flowers and centipedes. We (Kevin Closte, Yvonne Choate, Ben Elkus, Gladys Grancorvizt, Sylvia Harvey, Kristen Kaminski, Virginia Prouty, and leader Diane Jeffcott) were home by 3:30, in time to enjoy the Saturday Market.
