Waldport-Yachats

We had a perfect spring day (sunny and 70°) for our annual walk from just south of Waldport to The Adobe on the north side of Yachats. We had to do some minor wading several times and only went up to the highway once to cross Big Creek. At the south end of our walk, there is a newly bulldozed roadway along the formerly disputed old State Highway right-of-way. We stopped briefly on the way back at the Devil’s Churn, Cape Perpetua Visitor Center, Darlingtonia Wayside and Moe’s in Florence. Sun-tanned hikers were Celia Bosworth, Genie Currier, Barb Elsen, Gladys Grancorvitz, Gary Marx, Ray Manning, Diane Rubert, Hilma Volk, and Joe Lowry (leader).
