Three Creek LakeMarch 4, 1990The road was not plowed for the last mile to the parking area that we had used previously for this trip. The extra two miles round-trip gave us a total of 13 miles or more of skiing. As we started skiing there were light snow showers alternating with sunshine. As we gained elevation the snowfall became mere persistent. At Three Creek Lake there was a steady heavy snowfall making it difficult to see much beyond the opposite shore of the lake. We skied back all the way over the road, which had been packed by snowmobiles. I think I enjoyed the longest continuous, non-stop glide that I ever experienced while crosscountry skiing — I went several miles without stopping. Our small group of skiers included Dave Garcia, John Hudson, Hans Schock and Dave Predeek (leader). |
