Scott MountainOctober 6, 1990The trip went off in perfect, if crisp weather on a lovely fall day in October. The trail was just dusted in snow that melted through the day. Partly cloudy skies improved into the afternoon also. The group was a happy bunch of extroverts, chattering most of the way up and down the mountain. At the top there was little wind, which was fortunate in temperatures in the mid-40s. The view was beautiful. Only the tops of the highest peaks were mostly obscured by periodic clouds. We wore plenty of red and other bright colors, but heard not a hunter shot. We speculated that the deer are becoming more clever about avoiding hunters. Among the happy band were members Uttam Guilder, Sandy and Chuck Reul and leader Eaton Conant. Non-members were Beth Conant, Mike McIntyre, Dorothy and Fred Munz, Chris Steele, Susan Steward, Masako Tani, and Hilma Volk. |
