Tidbits MountainSeptember 19, 1990Our perfect fall’s day hike started with cinnamon rolls and coffee at the Rustic Skillet up the McKenzie. Then on to the eight-mile drive on secondary road #1509 which was in excellent condition and provided good views “out over space”! The 2¼-mile trail starts through a majestic old growth forest, continues behind Tidbits across a rock slide, and winds on to the top. We basked in the sun during a leisurely lunch and were reluctant to leave. The lower half of the trail is in good condition, however, there is no trail marker on the road. The upper half of the trail needs a great deal of maintenance including the removal of several enormous rocks. Hikers were Catherine Jones, Bonnie Ledford, Dorothy Turner and leader Margaret Wiese. |
