Bobby Lakes-Moore Creek Trail
September 13, 1990
What an ambitious day!
Eight of us (four members and four potential members) were eager to hike the Moore Creek-Bobby
Because we were arranging a key and car exchange, half the group had an extra 40 minutes ride
before their hike began.
This trail goes mostly downhill from the Bobby Lake Trailhead, off Waldo Lake Road.
But it follows that the other direction is almost all uphill.
Since we all chose our own way, I think everyone was happy (I hope!).
At 12:30 we met together for our lunch stop.
This was a little past the half-way point for those walking eastward.
We made the key exchange and were on our way again.
There aren’t many other options on a trip like this.
Bobby Lake was as beautiful as ever—even though we did not allow a lot of time to enjoy it.
At 4:45 we regrouped and with all participants accounted for we were homeward bound, arriving
back at S.E.H.S. around 5:45.
It really was an ambitious day!
Special thanks to everyone for making it a fun time. As always, the people we meet are the most
delightful part of these outings.
Downhillers were Gerhard Hoffman, Volney Kelm, Bill Morse and Paula Vehrs;
uphillers were Marjorie Kelm, Renee, Birgitte Williams and Lois Morse (leader).
