After three annual attempts, Kathy and I finally made our Obsidian destination to Matthieu Lakes,
no road closed signs, no car trouble.
Susan Stewart, who was with us last year when we broke down at Nimrod, had the courage to ride with
us again and we had a wonderful drive.
Upon arriving at South Matthieu Lake we met a Sierra Club group led by Sandy Tepfer with Ray Mikesell
and Jerold Williams.
On our way out we dropped down to North Matthieu making a nice loop hike of six miles.
Enjoying this sunny, clear day in the Oregon Cascades were: Dottie Conlon, Truman Grandy,
Julia and Sylvia Harvey, Bonnie Manheim, Chris Olson, Dawn Peterson, Beverly Soule, Susan Stewart,
Carolyn Villa Lobos, Eleanor Wilkerson, and Kathy and Park Riddle (leaders).
