Canyon Creek MeadowsJuly 7, 1990Summer decided to begin on the day of our hike. All participants arrived at the trailhead at Jack Lake without any problem. This beautiful hike was made even more enjoyable by the near perfect weather. Sunshine, clear blue skies, a light gentle breeze and the camaraderie of the hikers. Some of the group decided to have lunch in the meadow and some hiked on to a view point for their lunch. The steep slope to the view point included hiking across a patch of snow. Early wildflowers included shooting stars, buttercups, paint brush, larkspur, marsh marigold, lupine, violets, penstemon and phlox. Hikers on this trip were Glen Aplin, Dan Bates, Genie Currier, Jean Gillett, Lisa Haws, Gary Marx, Mary Millman, Lindsay Pierce, Chuck and Sandy Reul, Henrietta Richmond, Sharon Ritchie and Harold Busby (leader). |
