Crescent MountainJune 17, 1990It started out cool and cloudy for the group of 11 hikers who set out up Crescent Mountain June 17. By 11 a.m. the sun had burned through and with a cool breeze it was a comfortable temperature for the long climb. Wildflowers were not out yet, as it looked like the snow had just melted off the large meadow. The view from the top was spectacular with clear skies and the mountains heavily covered by late spring snows. The group basked lazily in the sunshine before heading down to Marple Creek for a break and back to the vehicles. The happy hikers were Mari Baldwin, Bob Foster, Gary Halvorson, Marty Hathaway, Ed Lichtenstein, Bill Loame, Gary Marx, Karl Rasmussen, Carol Stem, Martha Welches and Suzanne Steussy (leader). |
