Father’s Day Bike RideJune 17, 1990Although the weatherman called for drizzle, there was not a drop. A crew of seven headed off under an overcast but clearing sky on our annual 16-mile ride. The route heads out the Amazon, over Chambers to the river, over Owasso Bridge, through north Eugene and down Garden Way to the bridge at Judkins Point. The group showed no interest for the steeper, more scenic route to the Lodge through the park but opted for the easier route because pangs of hunger seemed to dictate. We were rewarded by the usual pancake breakfast. Those enjoying the mini adventure were: Lelia and Herb Lee, Fred and Jean Richardson, Parker Riddle, Gene Thaxton and Marriner Orum (leader). |
