I was a little jittery about leading my first hike, but when we re-grouped at the Clear Lake Lodge,
and I realized I was leading a congenial, fun-loving group, I wasn’t too uncomfortable asking,
“Now, where is that trailhead?!!”
The weather was right for a pleasant hike with an early lunch stop where we watched two osprey
flying to and from the nest in an old snag.
All but one couple were back at the lodge enjoying their very delicious selection of pies and ice
cream when the heavens opened up with a deluge that lasted about an hour.
This was followed by bright sunshine.
Many trees had been blown down over the winter.
All except two large ones had been cleared from the trail and one of those had steps cut out.
Non-members enjoying the day were Brian Hartley, Jenny Hill, Marie Loome, Erica Pool,
and Virginia Thille.
Obsidians were Genie Currier, Bob Devine, Shirley Froyd, Gladys Grancorvitz, Helen Lynch,
Bonnie Manheim, Betty Staeck and leader Vera Woolley.
